TerraBTC is an open source software project released under the MIT license which gives you the power to run, modify, and copy the software and to distribute, at your option, modified copies of the software. The software is released in a transparent process that allows for independent verification of binaries and their corresponding source code.

On TerraBTC the entire 3D world and all data are written in clear text, they are consultable and verifiable by anyone, the ownership, world writing transactions and land exchanges are managed and secured through the bitcoin wallet.
Starting from Genesis Transaction you can view all the owners, related ownership changes and all the blocks that have been modified in history from when it started to today.
TerraBTC allows parties to interact without needing to trust each other. Based on Bitcoin Cryptographic layer, this decentralized protocol enable independent verification of information and transactions, eliminating the need for a trusted intermediary. Trust is placed in the protocol and in the code that executes it.
Writing on Bitcoin Layer1 guarantees the highest level of redundancy, integrity and availability over time, even in the face of failures, attacks, or other threats. Using Bitcoin as storage if some nodes go offline or are compromised, the overall system remains operational, and the data remains accessible and intact.
TerraBTC is a tx and string protocol: users can execute commands directly without the need for a client or online validator nodes. The prolonged use of writings of TerraBTC on blockchain, particularly in situations where rendering and interaction codes are lost, allows users or algorithms (using reverse engineering) to entirely reconstruct the rules and structure of the protocol starting from the commands and data written in clear plain text on the blockchain. This codeless approach ensures that all interactions can occur autonomously, independent of external clients or online validation nodes, thereby enhancing accessibility and flexibility for users who may lack programming or cryptographic verification of source code/executable binaries skills.
The TerraBTC Protocol is a Application Layer on Bitcoin timechain, everyone can see who edited every single block of the map, check who owns that land and whether that modification is legitimate or not , the network supports more transactions without a need to modify the software in the future.

Wallet encryption allows you to secure your wallet, so that you can view transactions and your lands, but are required to enter your “password” before buy, sell or build on a land.
